-All dogs will defend their puppies even from you, their owner, it's just a maternal instinct everyone has.
-If a dog is ill they can be unsure of what is causing it and could blame the owner.
-If a dog feels threatened then it will bite purely out of fear.
-All dogs experience some form of possessiveness, don't try to take his toy or bone from him.
-If you stare at a dog in the eyes he will see this as a challenge of dominance. If a dog is growling at you lower your eyes and back away slowly.
To stop biting dogs begins with the dogs handler. Don't leave things to chance and follow these pieces of advice to avoid your dog from biting;
-Give your dog the snip to help cut down their levels of testosterone which can cause high levels of aggressiveness.
-Start socializing your puppy at a young age. Get your puppy used to being in a busy and unfamiliar environment as soon as he is vaccinated.
-Enrol your dog or puppy into a training program, you will get to meet other dogs and owners and it will build a better relationship between you and your dog.
-Visit your vet on a regular basis and keep all his vaccinations up to date. Get your dog licensed, chipped and keep up to date on all his paperwork.
-Never let your dog wander freely. Your dog should be kept on your own property and you should control his access to the street.
